Blake Wiggs received both his M.A. in Teaching and B.A. in Anthropology from East Carolina University, and is currently an Instructional Coach in Eastern North Carolina. As a School Reform Initiative (SRI) Facilitator, he is committed to educational equity and excellence, by supporting transformational learning communities in schools.
Blake is particularly interested in the intersection of art and social justice, and believes the fine arts should act as a vehicle to spark dialogue and change. In 2012, he co-founded The Cogs & Wheels Project with Jane E. Horner, as an ongoing initiative for confronting local and relevant 21st century challenges through the Fine Arts. This project was organized into a series of interactive exhibits that raised awareness across various social themes. He has been involved with the Craven Arts Council & Gallery since 2011, and held the office of Vice President prior to becoming President.
